Year 5

Real PE

Every evening by 5pm we will upload the learning activities for the next day below. These tasks are to be completed in the purple exercise books that were sent home, the Maths practice book or the arithmetic book. Please support your child to complete the activities where necessary.

We hope your learning at home has been a success so far. Miss Barry, Miss Welland and Miss Smith are trying really hard to think of fun and engaging tasks for you to do at home. This situation proving to be a time of uncertainty and anxiety for many children as their weekly routine becomes greatly altered. The Year 5 team thought that it would be nice to ask all families to send 1 photo each week of your home learning successes which we will then upload to this Year 5 page at the end of each week.  This would be a good way to keep the children connected to their classmates and show them that  life continues much as before, just in a different setting. We hope that the children will take comfort and enjoyment from sharing their weekly experiences and seeing what their friends have been up to.
If you would like to share a photo of your child's home learning experience this week please send your photos via email to . This email is for sending photographs only.

We are limiting each child to 1 photo as we have almost 90 children in the year group. We will upload the photos at the end of each week. We are excited to see the most orignal photographs. We will chose 6 each week to share on our class page. Please ensure photos sent do not contain the name of children in the image. This is optional, please don't send any images that you don't want to be shared on our class page. Happy Snapping!!

Letter to Year 5 Parents

After half-term, Cycling are coming in to St Joseph's to offer cycle training to all the children in Year 5.

They will visit from 2-27 March 2020. The first week (week beginning 2nd March) all of the children will be assessed. They do not need to bring in their own bikes but are encouraged to do so (as the instructors will be able to carry out a safety check of the bike)

Please read the letter below, an email with this letter is also being sent. There will also be hard copies available in the School Office.

Many children are coming into school with amazing pencil-cases but no actual writing equipment.

Please ensure your child has-

A pencil

A blue pen

A green pen

A red pen for editing

A ruler

Thank you
