Apologies for an error included on Monday's Maths Power Point and related worksheet. We were learning about 2-D shape. When we talk about the properties of these shapes we look at the number of sides that each shape has and the number of corners (vertices). A corner (vertex) is where 2 sides meet. E.g. a triangle has 3 straight sides and 3 corners (vertices), whereas a circle has 1 curved side but no corner (vertex).
When we talk about the properties of 3-D shapes we look at the number of faces, the number of edges and the number of corners each shape has.
The sheet below is helpful as a reference when learning the vocabulary associated with Shape.
