Plans for expenditure of Sports Premium 2016/2017
The purpose of the sports premium is to promote additional opportunities for children to engage in high quality PE/coaching and to take part in intra and inter school competition.
We have used our allocation of £20,707 in the following ways:
Subscription to Willow Tree Sports Partnership and top up Gold offer. £6,000
The partnership provides high quality training for staff, a full calendar of inter school competitions and intra school festivals for younger children, and before and after school clubs in a variety of minority sports. In addition we have used our time allocation to train play leaders in both Year 2 and 6 to promote active play at lunchtime.
Commitment to additional sports clubs for girls and under represented year groups.
We use our partnership with All Stars Soccer to run multi-sport activities for half term blocks on a Friday after school to target the less active groups within school. £1,000.
Employ a Sport Apprentice.
The remainder of the funds to partially fund a full time sport apprentice who works in timetabled PE lessons to maximise inclusion of children with additional needs and to improve the outcomes of small team games by leading and coaching within the teacher led lesson. The apprentice also supports all the teaching staff voluntary after school sport sessions improving the experience for pupils. The apprentice accompanies all off site sports trips thereby releasing other staff to continue their internal roles. In the spring and summer terms the apprentice will run clubs by himself increasing the range and availability of high quality sport and PE.
